Access Control & Video Security

License Plate & Vehicle Recognition

  • Hands-free gate entry
  • Enforce parking without patrols
  • Early warning on problem vehicles
  • Faster service lines
LP

Built from

  • a connection to the camera already positioned to capture plates at your entry points
  • plate-reading software that turns an image into a plate number
  • lists of approved, blocked, and watched vehicles
  • a connection to your existing gate or barrier control for approved plates
  • a log of every vehicle in and out with time stamps

What it does

License Plate & Vehicle Recognition

Reads license plates from the camera you already have, or add through your own installer, at your gate, lot, or drive-through and matches them to your lists. It can trigger the gate or barrier hardware you already have for approved vehicles, track how long cars stay, and alert you when a flagged plate shows up.

Where it fits

Trigger, work, handoff

  1. A camera at the entrance captures each vehicle's plate as it approaches.
  2. The software reads the plate and checks it against your lists.
  3. Approved vehicles get the gate opened for them automatically.
  4. Each entry and exit is logged with a time stamp.
  5. A flagged or unknown plate triggers an alert to your team.

What has to be decided

Before the quote

We configure the recognition rules for your specific gates or lanes and set which plates open a gate, get logged, or trigger an alert. The camera and gate or barrier hardware is either what you already have in place or sourced and installed by your own vendor. Approved and blocked lists can be managed by you and updated at any time.
